More Tebow

After hearing all different point of views from different sports analysts and speculating the trade myself, here are my thoughts on the Tebow trade.
First off, I do think part of this was a publicity stunt by Rex. Why do I say that? We have all heard loud and clear what the Jets are about. They are constantly trying to steal the headlines in NYC and they sure as hell did it here. I don't think that all this was just a publicity stunt, but it sure did have something to do with it.
Rex really thinking Tebow can take the starting job? Well of course! Would you pay someone first round money to just run wildcat formations? Never! Rex brought him to NY because he knows Tebow is a better leader and probably thinks he is a better QB, I don't think Tebow is better than Ryan Leaf to be honesty, than Sanchez. We have all seen flashes of greatness from Sanchez, but we have also seen the lowest of lows from him. Sanchez just doesn't belong in New York, but then again, neither does Tebow. Ultimately Tebow will get the starting job from Sanchez no later than week 10, not because Tebow will earn it, but Rex, the Jets receivers, and the Jets fans will get tired of Sanchez at QB and Tebow will be given the starting job. By week 12 I am sure everyone will realize that not only was it a bad move to put Tebow at QB, but to even bring him on the team.
Rex trying to stay of the hot seat? Possibly. We all know what kind of mouth Rex and co. has on them. He has promised a Superbowl ever since he has been there. What does he have to show for it? He has 2 AFC Championship losses. It also seems as if he is losing the locker room. I also don't think it helps when Antonio Cromartie said what he said about Tebow. If you have not read it here it is, "We don't need Tebow. We sell out every home game let him go to Jacksonville Tampa or Miami." Then also went on to say, "Y bring Tebow in when we need to bring in more weapons for @Mark_Sanchez let's build the team around him." I honestly agree with his points but you can't run your mouth like that. Especially when the trade did clear and now he had to release a new statement to cover his butt. The statement he said basically sounded like an "Oh sh-t, this isn't good." Here is what he said, "He's a guy that brings a different atmosphere to the locker room and the huddle. We were missing that last year — a guy that can take control and do the things that we need to." Order definitely needs to be restored in the Jets organization and Tebow might be the answer to that.
It could be a possibility that Rex just wants to keep his job but I honestly think Rex believes Tebow is the answer to a Superbowl for that organization. I think Ryan believes that with Tebow's leadership he can fire up that team and show them real leadership, which is something that team desperately needs.
Ultimately here is what is going to happen. Tebow is slowly going to get playing time and eventually take the starting job. This will cause a lot of problems in the locker room that is above Tebow. Tebow will lose the first playoff game, if they get there. This is only a giant step backwards for that team. You know that old saying, "Two quarterbacks is the same thing as zero." We see it in college football all the time. Either one QB gets more and more time or they keep two QBs and they end up doing worse.
After all that, I do wish the Jests, not Tebow, best of luck this coming season as they are a team I like to see win. Also, I do respect Rex greatly and I love his defensive mentality, but I just think this all was a bad move.
